Who we are
This notice applies to the World Delirium Awareness Day website at www.deliriumday.com, maintained by iDelirium. For privacy enquiries, contact idelirium.ifds@gmail.com.
Information the website processes
- Technical and security data: the website and its hosting services may process an IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps and diagnostic information needed to deliver and protect the site.
- Consent preferences: an essential cookie records the choices you make in the cookie banner.
- Analytics data: if you consent, Google Analytics 4 collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type, traffic source and interactions. We use aggregated reports to understand and improve the website.
- Information you send us: if you contact us by email, we process the information you choose to provide so that we can respond.
The public website does not provide visitor accounts and is not intended to collect clinical or other sensitive personal information. Please do not send identifiable patient information through this website or by email.
Why we use this information
We process essential technical information because it is necessary to operate and secure the website and because we have a legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable public resource. We use non-essential analytics only with your consent. We process correspondence to respond to your enquiry and to keep an appropriate record of that exchange.
Cookies and analytics
Non-essential Analytics cookies are blocked unless you choose to accept them. You can decline them without losing access to the website, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the Cookie Preferences control. The separate Cookie Policy lists the cookies and services in use.
Google Analytics data associated with cookies, user identifiers or advertising identifiers is set to a maximum retention period of 14 months. Standard aggregated reports may be retained for longer. For further information, see Google's information about safeguarding Analytics data and the Google Privacy Policy.
Embedded content and external links
Pages may include or link to content hosted by other organisations, such as video, social-media or document services. These services have their own privacy practices. Where the website can control a non-essential embedded service, it is blocked until the relevant consent is given. Following an external link takes you to another organisation's website.
Who receives information
Information may be processed by service providers that host, secure or maintain the website. With consent, analytics information is processed by Google. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect the website and its users.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the provider is responsible for using an applicable transfer mechanism and safeguards described in its privacy documentation.
How long information is kept
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including security, legal and continuity requirements. Analytics user and event data is retained for up to 14 months. Correspondence is reviewed and deleted when it is no longer needed. Hosting logs and backups follow the service provider's operational and security retention schedules.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to be informed, obtain a copy of your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion or restriction, object to processing, receive data you supplied in a portable form, and withdraw consent. This website does not use personal data to make solely automated decisions about individuals.
To exercise a right, email idelirium.ifds@gmail.com. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office; guidance is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when the website's services or privacy practices change and will show the latest revision date above.
