Who we are

Information the website processes

  • Technical and security data: the website and its hosting services may process an IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps and diagnostic information needed to deliver and protect the site.
  • Analytics preference: an essential cookie records if you turn Google Analytics off.
  • Analytics data: limited Google Analytics 4 records information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and traffic source so that we can produce aggregate statistics and improve the website. Advertising storage, Google Signals and advertising personalisation are disabled. Query strings are not sent as page locations.
  • Information you send us: if you contact us by email, we process the information you choose to provide so that we can respond.

The public website does not provide visitor accounts and is not intended to collect clinical or other sensitive personal information. Please do not send identifiable patient information through this website or by email.

Why we use this information

We process essential technical information because it is necessary to operate and secure the website and because we have a legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable public resource. We use Google Analytics solely to produce aggregate statistics that help us understand and improve the service. This use relies on the statistical-purposes exception in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service. You can object free of charge and turn analytics off at any time. We process correspondence to respond to your enquiry and to keep an appropriate record of that exchange.

Cookies and analytics

Limited Google Analytics is on when you first visit so that normal visits are represented in the site's statistics. The notice shown on the site gives you an easy way to turn analytics off. Doing so removes the site's Google Analytics cookies, records the choice in essential storage and prevents analytics from loading on later pages.
